We have had a whirlwind of activity and yet most of it has been a collection of small things to take in one piece at a time....noteably:
We made our very first trip to the Oregon coast this summer, just us five, and it was amazing and everything you could hope for. I was both so sad and excited the night prior, thinking on our traditions over the many years and knowing mom and dad were unable to join us this year given the short notice (one day!) and working schedules; hoping this was not the beginning of a tradition lost.
But off we went with bells on!! Stocked to the gills with snacks and blessings from papa and grandma for the coast. We not only booked it the night before but upon arriving got the best possible room in the house, three bedrooms overlooking poolside...God is so good. We even got a sunburn playing mini golf, a hole-in-one or two, and a few fascinations during blackout, go Evie! ;)
Cannon Beach was gorgeous with the occasional fog, rain, art galleries, smooth espresso (thanks Beth!), and hermit crabs galore for the avid ocean treaders in our family. Even a few visits with family and lots of swimming! Add to that some great popcorn, ice cream, saltwater taffy, and a stop at Cousins Restaurant and you could not have asked for a better trip.
